For the 5th time, Polyfollia turns St Lô and the Lower-Normandy into the meeting place of the best emerging choirs and vocal ensembles.
In 50 concerts, general audience will have the opportunity to discover 14 outstanding ensembles chosen all over the planet by the artistic committee of the “Watchers”. During 5 days, professionals from the entire world will come and put together future seasons’ programmes and 60 French amateur choirs will show their talent in more than 120 free events: mini-concerts, polyphonic masses and singing bars. In addition, 15 young international managers will come and be trained in their future job in the core of the festival.
And last but not least, general audience, professionals, amateur choristers and experienced ensemble as well will discover new musical perspectives through 30 workshops.
Pieces of the festival will be regularly revealed on this website – complete programme to be shown at the end of March 2012.

Zur festlichen Matinee, die am Sonntag mit dem Konzert FINALE und der Verleihung des Georg-Friedrich-Händel-Rings den Abschluss des 18. Deutschen Chorfestival in Zwickau bildete, bedankte sich der Verband mit 50 CDs mit A-cappella-Chorwerken von Clara und Robert Schumann. Diese stiftete der VDKC-Mitgliedschor, die Berliner Singakademie, als besonderes Dankeschön an die Stadt Zwickau für die offene und herzliche Aufnahme der Teilnehmer des 18. Deutschen Chorfestivals. Die CD wurde von dem Ensemble vor zwei Jahren zum Schumannjahr als Konzertmitschnitt aufgenommen. Konstanze Sander, Vizepräsidentin des VDKC und Vorstandsmitglied der Berliner Singakademie Berlin, bat die Oberbürgermeisterin, Dr. Pia Findeiß, die CDs an Schulen und/oder kulturelle und soziale Einrichtungen weiter zu leiten, die damit gut arbeiten können und die Idee der künstlerischen Förderung gezielt verfolgen.
